Version 1.1.2 Release Notes

Release 1.1.2 is now available here.

This will hopefully be the last release for a while, it addresses the remaining known issues with the 1.1 release, specifically missing victory points in some sets and tidying up the unused Crest field in other sets. There is some additional functionality in the 1.1.2 game (.o8g) file, most notably the automated placement of encounter cards in the staging area.

Game 1.1.2
- Removed "Crest" in card definition
- Discarded cards that are unknown (not yet revealed) go to encounter discard pile rather than the player's discard pile
- Encounter cards are added to staging area so as not to overlay existing cards
- Use targeting to show new encounter card (as opposed to select)
- Improved Player Setup (if used more than once)
- Improved logic for discarding cards from the Special Deck (Smaug and Sack cards)
- the previous "Move discard pile to deck" options now automatically shuffle the deck after moving the cards

Conflict and the Carrock 1.3
- Removed old style Setup information

Core Set 1.1.2
- Removed "Crest" entries
- Re-added Errata'd player cards (Beravor and Protector of Lorien)

Buried Alive 1.4
- Removed "Crest" entries

Four Seasons 1.2
- Removed "Crest" entries

The Old Forest 1.2
- Removed "Crest" entries
- Changed Name to fit standard naming conventions

Over Hill and Under Hill 1.3
- Added Victory Points

The Bandits of Chetwood North 1.2
- Added Victory Points

The Culling at Barrow Down 1.2
- Added Victory Points

Foundations of Stone 1.3
- Added Victory Points

Massing at Osgiliath 1.2
- Added Victory Points
- Fixed Qty of Cut off (4) (Both Deck and Set were updated)

I've noticed a small bug in the new encounter card layout code. It only checks to see if the top left corner of the new card will overlap a current card. It needs to check this for all 4 corners of the new card. (Patch released as 1.1.3 on downloads page, includes a shortcut (Esc) to clear the current targeting)

If you find any more bugs with the 1.1.2 release, post them here ....

Great news - GeckoTH has produced an updated Core set with higher quality images.
This is an optional download and doesn't affect functionality but is worth the effort for the improved visuals. It includes the updated errata text on Beravor, Protector of Lorien, Beastmaster and the Nazgul.
It will be included in the next major release and is available now under the Core set download as version 1.1.3.

Version 1.1.4 game code

I've been busy trying to find a way to avoid the timing issues that occur if 2 players use setup (ctrl+shift+S) or next round (ctrl+N) at the same time.

In this new version of the game (.o8g) file there is
- Code to spot if setup went wrong and give a warning to reset.
- Better reset management (players get new IDs when setting up)
- Clearer indication of when a player is ready for the next round (heroes are highlighted in green)
- The current first player must wait until all other players are ready before they can move on the first player token. The software gives warnings about who is not ready.
- Fixed shadow card dealing to face down player cards
- If a player uses ctrl+N for next round but hasn't done a refresh, this is done automatically (You can still use ctrl+R if you actually want to do something in the refresh step)

This new version should still work with earlier 1.1.x releases but timing errors can still occur unless everyone is using 1.1.4
